Really looking forward to see how devs take advantage of these next generation GPUs.

Can’t get around the fact that you’re trying to justify nvidia’s current architectural inefficiency by appealing to its other potential uses. That’s not a great way to do things. Gamers don’t care why the performance/$ isn’t there. While it is great that the hardware you helped design could potential push the medical imaging industry forward, that side of the business has no place in a gamer’s home machine. We aren’t going to pay for your R&D dollar in gpgpu.

One in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetimes, not this year.

Good catch. What I meant to say is one in eight women will have breast cancer in their lifetime. We got these stats from a number of sources the CDC, American Cancer Society, and Cancer.org. We’re fixing it on the blog post.

We aren’t asking gamers to pay for our compute R&D for the medical industry, and I think our perf/$ for gaming is very good. Also a lot of the compute stuff we put in our GPUs totally benefits gamers. It’s why Batman rocks with graphics plus physics. You couldn’t do this if you didn’t have a great compute engine.
