I redently pucessed a pair of simple anaglific red-cyan glasses & i love to play PC games vith them… In mi opinion it’s a new dimension in 3d gaming, and very cheap… about 1$ for the glasses & a Geforce 9400 Gt witch is not expesive.

Not to rip on you Steve, but Sony HAS announced 3D plans for the PS3…and they did it back in September…

  • Steve Wildstrom

@David–I should have mentioned that 3D on PS/3 will be enabled through a firmware upgrade. You will, however, need a 3D-ready display and glasses to get the 3D effect.

Sony has said that 3D would be implemented into the Playstation 3, most likely through a firmware upgrade. However, I believe that it would just enable it to play the new 3D Bluray movies. You probably won’t see it run games in 3D since 3D gaming pretty much cuts your perfomance in half. 3D gaming on consoles would make much more sense in next generation consoles when new hardware can make games playable even with the performance drop.

I don’t think 3D TV as presented currently will catch on. For one thing, the view is limited by the boundaries of the TV screen, which devalues the 3D experience to an extent. True 3D TV will in all likelihood be holographic with no physical boundary limits — like Princess Leia’s message in “Star Wars.” This will be a dramatic paradigm shift in entertainment and gaming — question is when? 5 years? 10 years? Imagine watching “Gone with the Wind” right on your living room coffee table.

The 3D TV experience is like nothing you have ever experienced.
