Is there a support for Nvidia Surround with GTX 2xx Cards???? I have two GTX260 and three Monitors. Can i use the Nvidia Surround now?

  • LuckyD

I don’t want to use 2D Surround for gaming but I do want to hookup 3 projectors and span one giant video image across them. Will this work with just 1 of my gt220 with 1GB ddr2? I can get another card and SLI it if I have to but I want to know if it will work. Also, is is possible to do 6 screens with 2 cards?

  • Johnny

correction, I don’t want to use 3D Surround.

    Hi Johnny
Our system requirements for Surround are lists here http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dv-system-requirements-surround-technology.html
The GT 220 GPUs are not supported since they do not support SLI. Your minimum GPU you can purchase would be two GeForce GTX 260 GPUs.
To answer your questions about projectors, yes they are supported as well. That URL above will also show you the support display modes and projectors are supported.
    Thanks.

  • LuckyD

Ok .. tried it. The three monitors have the same resolution, refresh rate, and sync polarity. But the manufacturers are different (Viewsonic, NEC and Hyundai). Bad thing … DOESNT WORK :( . By the way two of three LCDs are plug with analog in and the third with digital. (Sorry for my english!!) Will buy other LCDs. Expensive thing this Nvidia Surround!

hiii nvidia and everyone…this new tech from nvidia seems…..just out of this world as anything else from nvidia….just lik to say to you all keep up the good work….and i rely want one of those 3D vision enabled GPU’s…btw i’m using a geforce GT 230M….:)

    Hi LuckyD,
3D Vision Surround requires using 3 matching digital or analog connectors. You cannot mix/match these connectors between digital and analog. That is likely your problem.

  • Malcolm Feth

What about support of 2x GTS250? it has SLI Connecters…

  • LuckyD

OMG.. it works .. BIGTHX.. that Driver si AWESOME. I only had to buy an adapter for my only one DVI LCD!!! You are great Andrew.. THX again!!!! For example Cooliris from Firefox span on three Monitors .. wow!!!

  • Jeff Goldwarf

Now manufacturers just need to create 3D LCD monitors that don’t look like utter garbage while also costing a fortune! Seriously, there’s nothing pretty about the current lineup of supported 3D displays, and the sacrifice you make in contrast, viewing angles, and overall image quality is not worth the benefit of 3D.

When is 3dtv Play coming out? There is no information other than “Coming Soon” available on the web site.

Any chance of 2 display surround (I’m actually interested in 2 triplehead2go’s, 3 might be a little excessive)
Also spanmode for 1 display card would also be most welcome as it used to be xp, its actually the only thing that keeps me in xp at the moment…

    Hi
Right now, we arent planning on two screens, but I am interested in your feedback.
Our reasoning was that with 2 screens, the main action (crosshair, character interaction, etc) will be centered right in the middle of your bezels.
Would you be ok with that?

  • Johnny

Thanks you very much! Great info. Keep up the great work Nvidia!

  • Dan the man

We are currently using one screen that has 4xDVI inputs and support a total resolution of 3840×2160 (works as 4 independent 1080p screens). It’s not 3D ready but if we could use span mode as suggested above and stretch the resolution and make one desktop that would be awsome.
Do you have any plans for this kind of support?
