actually i could only afford the 9800 gt it works great with freelancer when i play on my friends server. i use the old 197.xx driver i fell i get a better performance from them. just to let you know you have a great company keep on with the great work you are doing. i have been aware of nvidia but never experience your products until two years ago when i bought an acer computer that sadly died. now i have a custom built pc with on board nivdia graphics the 9300 and i threw in the 9800 gt 1 gig card both products are from evga.

is it just me or does my gt330m(1GB) in my laptop get better FPS on my 1080p(16:9)120Hz tv than on 1024p (4:3) 75Hz monitor?
and the same applies in reverse on my desktops 8800GTS (320MB)

I recently purchased a Geforce GTS 450 to replace my reliable, albeit, aging 9600 GT. Since i only have a relatively modest 24″ LCD monitor and can only afford to fork-over less than $150 on a new GPU (i needed the rest of my salary to pay for rent, utilities, gas, food, and so on…you know, those other necessary things rich people don’t worry about) i only really needed a GPU that can “get the job done” with a few extra features thrown in.

I must say, i was pretty impressed with the performance jump from my old GPU. I got more than what i expected. I bought the “sonic platinum” uber-overclocked version from Palit (930 MHz core clock and 2000 Mhz memory clock). It’s quiet, runs cool, and still had some headroom for overclocking. It wasn’t as long as the reference model so i didn’t have any trouble installing it either. Great bang for my buck!
