Introducing the First Release 260 WHQL-Certified Driver

We are happy to announce that Release 260 drivers are now WHQL-certified. The new version 260.89 WHQL-certified drivers can be downloaded here and are available for both desktop and notebook GPUs.

Release 260 adds support for our latest GeForce GTS 450 and GeForce GT 430 desktop GPUs and for many of our new GeForce 400M notebook GPUs. Release 260 drivers provide a nice performance boost for GeForce 400 Series GPUs and add support for the ultimate home theater experience with Blu-ray 3D and lossless surround sound. They also add support for OpenGL 4.1 and come with a brand new driver installer. You can read more about all of the features in my earlier Release 260 blogs here and here.

Here’s what i see with this drivers:
They fixed (partially) stuttering in games (Bad Company 2 , Fallout 3), but now i see stuttering when i watch movies (it doesn’t happened with 258.96 drivers).
I use Windows 7 64-bit and GTX460.
Could You please fix this, it’s very annoying.

Some stuttering appeared in Bad Company 2 on GTX 465.
Vantage score rose by a couple of hundreds of points.

Still horrible performance in Final Fantasy XI around groups of characters, an 8 year old game that ran better on my 6800GT 6 years ago then it does on my 2x GTX460SLI setup…
Can we expect a proper fix in the next drivers? It’s been over 6 months since Nvidia has been aware of the issue though driver feedback and the Nvidia forums and we still haven’t seen a real fix.

Hi I play MW2 on 640×480 on lowest settings and I have a 17″ LCD. When I installed this driver the 640×480 resolution displays only in the middle. I mean it is not “widescreen”. It has a black space on right and left side. Is there any solution to solve this problem?

I have troubles with this driver on the fan.. the cooler seems not work really good in the GTX 295.
So I reinstall te previous version (258 version)

you should add a check to the installer to make sure there is enough disk space available. the install kept failing for me and it took a while to figure out what was going on.

Fix the punkbuster conflict with Optimus. NV and Punkbuster need to resolve this ASAP.
