    Hi Masterminded,

The Acer Timeline M3 Ultra is equipped with our GeForce GT 640M dGPU.  While this GPU is in the middle of our stack, it represents a huge uptick in performance and will in fact,  hit the performance range of our GeForce GTX 460M under many, although not all conditions.  GTX class products are outfitted with faster memory so there are some scenarios where the GeForce GTX 460M will maintain the lead, but you can generally expect these two GPU’s to be on par with each other.

And when you consider that the 640M can be found in ultraportable designs with long battery life, this is exciting news for everyone!

    Hi Khalid,

As a technology enthusiast, I feel your pain.  Part of the excitement of technology is that things are always getting better, and for us better doesn’t just mean performance but also portability and battery life.  We are constantly working hard to bring you the highest performing notebooks and rest assured that every new generation of GeForce is very best we can deliver.

It is fantastic to see that NVIDIA leaves no market segment untouched when it comes to innovation.

I am ecstatic to see Kepler extend to notebooks & ultrabooks on the same day as the desktop release!

    Thanks Sagar,

Part of creating an optimized and efficient product is putting dedication and hard work into crafting the right product.  As our CEO Jensen stated, the Ultrabook is not a new category, but the next step in the direction of notebooks and our engineers have been working for years on delivering our best solutions to you.  Co-launching notebook and desktop Kepler at the same time shows that we are committed to delivering the highest performing solutions ranging from beastly gaming desktops to ultraportable notebooks.

I’m pleased I don’t buy the latest laptops anymore because I would have just missed this and all older technology would have gone down in price. Would love to see how this compares to a decent PC.
