Last year at the All Things D conference in Hong Kong, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang took to the stage and declared that all future notebooks would be like the Macbook Air – but without compromises. Today, we are taking a big step in that direction with the introduction of the NVIDIA GeForce 600M family of notebook GPUs.
GeForce 600M Series GPUs deliver excellent performance per watt, performance per millimeter and overall performance and power efficiency. By any measure, NVIDIA is raising the performance bar for all notebooks – from the thin-and-light Ultrabook segment to ultrapowerful GeForce GTX gaming notebooks.
The full GPU lineup includes:
- Enthusiast class – GeForce GTX 675M, GeForce GTX 670M, GeForce GTX 660M
- Performance class – GeForce GT 650M, GeForce GT 640M, GeForce GT 640M LE, GeForce GT 630M
- Mainstream class – GeForce GT 620M, GeForce 610M
Plus, NVIDIA Optimus technology with GeForce 600M Series GPUs help maximize battery life, making the combination a perfect match to any notebook. Device manufacturers have recognized how complementary these two technologies are, and we expect to outfit the lion’s share of Intel Ivy Bridge notebooks with our new lineup of notebook GPUs.
Many OEMs are already shipping GeForce 600M Series GPUs with Intel Sandy Bridge notebooks – for example, the Acer Aspire M3-581TG Ultrabook features a GeForce GT 640M. Once Intel’s next-generation platform is fully rolled out, you’ll find incredible new notebooks with our GPUs being offered by every major manufacturer, including Acer, Alienware, Asus, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, IBM, Lenovo, MSI, Samsung, Toshiba and newcomer Vizio.
