    are you still recommending 1:1 GPU to CPU ratio or has it changed.

    This is always a good question.   The simple answer is that 1 to 2 GPUs per CPU socket is a good “general” ratio when your cluster has lots of different types of users.  

    But as applications maximize their use of GPUs, higher GPU to CPU ratios lead to further speedups.   Example, the quantum chemistry application TeraChem scales to up to 8 GPUs (with 2 CPUs) in a single server:

    The best part of GPU Servers is the size. it amazes me the kind of processing power you can fit into a 1U Box: 3 GPU’s, 2 Processors, 256GB of Memory, etc….
