    I love nVidia :-) Since 2001 :D

  • Chris_Daniel

    Thanks KIX! GeForce3?

  • Nekrage

The release notes have NOTHING to do with Diablo 3….soooooo why even mention it? Attempting to build hype for your drivers by mentioning Diablo 3?….if you did not fine tune anything to give D3 enhanced fps or anything of the matter then these drivers have nothing to do with D3.

  • Chris_Daniel

    Hi Nekrage,
These drivers are the first to add WHQL support for all the GeForce technologies with Diablo III: FXAA, Adaptive Vsync, Ambient Occlusion (in R295), Frame Rate Target, and SLI (in R295).

using a m11 laptop when i updated to 301.42 i was unable to use my external monitor and it would say an error message when i tried to goto nvidia control panel, had to restore to a previous point. lol really looking forward to this working to fix some issues with diablo 3

  • Chris_Daniel

For a system specific issue like this it is best to get help on our moderated forums. We have a specific thread for this driver here: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=229953

  • http://twitter.com/mdgio Michael Giovinazzo

I would like to mention that 301.42 dropped performance in Diablo 3 from 140 fps (using 301.24) to 80 fps with a GTX 460 / 3770K. This has implications when using vsync.

I recommend staying with .24 rather than .42 for this game.

Hi Michael, we are investigating a clock issue with some manufacturer’s higher clocked cards. I believe your performance issue isn’t specific to Diablo 3. If you have time it would be great to hear more about your issue on our moderated forums: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=229953

I updated the driver for a gt430 to r300 and it is putting my monitor to sleep, no connection showing thru hdmi , I rolled back driver and it works fine, any ideas?

  • http://Geforce.com/ Manuel Guzman

Can you please tell me which monitor you are using and also if you have any other displays connected to your Geforce GT 430 at the same time?

  • StriderWhite

I hate Nvidia, since 2001! I had only problems with their grapic cards..

  • acidbugler

How about some drivers for the gtx 640, 650, 660, 670, 675, or 680 mobile GPUs?  I have a new laptop with a gtx 660m coming next week and Nvidia only has up to date drivers for the 610, 620, 630 and 635.  The ones shipping with the laptop are somewhere around 255.XX.

It’s ridiculous that Nvidia ships out mobile GPUs without any real support for sometimes months.  Yes, I know they always say that us fools who buy laptops should turn to the laptop manufacturer, but that’s nonsense.  Nvidia should have drivers ready to go the day laptops with their mobile GPUs are available.

The most ludicrous part of this situation is that when you go to nvidia.com, the first thing you see is a laptop with the GTX 680m.  Then you find out that there are no drivers for it.  Amazing.

Hey Nvidia, how about taking care of the people who are going out of their way to buy laptops with your mobile GPUs?  This is been a problem for years and you have nothing to remedy the situation.

Hi Syed, we will be posting a beta driver on Monday for notebook GPUs up to 675M. While we typically have the first update for new GPUs posted earlier that this and do apologize for that (Windows 8 came at the same time), Verde drivers are post-launch updates, not launch drivers. At launch, the best driver for the notebook is the one that ships with the system and NVIDIA is updating those drivers right up until launch of the product.

    Hey Chris,

Thank you very much.  I posted that comment on this article and then realized it was weeks old.  That’s why I just copied and pasted it to the newer one.

I really do appreciate it.  There are a lot of people who are frustrated and I’m just glad that the beta will be released a few days before I get my new laptop.

    Thanks again,

    Syed

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the good news. Now I’m curiously waiting for the drivers, constantly refreshing the site, although it’s probably too early in the morning out there, lol. Can you please give us a glimpse of what to expect from these beta drivers?

    Thanks,

    Phani
