SIGH!  I’d love to see Tegra on a Windows Phone 8 device.  4 core, and 12 graphics cores .

I don’t understand Windows 8 and RT tablets will have Nvidia graphics but not Windows Phone 8.  I’m surprised Microsoft didn’t go with the full home run or at least let the handset makers have a choice.

These games are more technical advanced than today console’s crap. Way to go Tegra. :)

Hi Arunask – don’t forget you can get controller support on many of these games. And hook your Tegra device up to your TV through HDMI and you’ve got a console experience on the go

Thanks for the comments! Windows 8 Phone is a market we’re definitely looking for in the future ;)

  • Robert Kegel

You don’t know how happy I am to hear that!  I thought I heard that all the Windows 8 phones were going have Qualcomm processors in them?  I’m glad to hear that rumor is wrong! :)   Long live Nvidia! ;)

I’m really looking forward to playing these games on my nexus 7

  • P233 asw

Well apparently you cant use HDMI or MHL on the Nexus 7. That’s a huge bummer! But they had to limit ports to keep the price low, so its OK.

Dude 12 cores are a lot! Its amazing how to can have quad core processor and 12 core GPU and still keep the price of tablets cheap like $199, that’s some extreme engineering if you ask me! Can’t wait to get my Nexus 7 when it comes out!

  • Hassan Anjum

It’s exciting!!! You can pre-order the Nexus 7 here https://play.google.com/store and get more information on the device here http://www.nvidia.com/object/nexus-7.html

I know Tegra 4 is supposed to launch Q1/Q2 next year. You guys should REALLY try to help the guys at OUYA to use your Tegra 4 instead of Tegra 3. Give them very early access to the hardware so it doesn’t delay their launch too much, and maybe make a one-time only exception and offer them the Tegra 4 at launch for the same price as they would have to pay for the Tegra 3 chip they want to use in the OUYA console.

Think of it as paying for a marketing campaign. The OUYA is already very popular and everyone reading tech news knows about it. However quite a few are worried Tegra 3 graphics quality is not enough, even for the $99 price for a console. I know Tegra 4 is supposed to be next-gen in a lot of way, and I think it would do a lot to address this issue if they can maintain the $99 price.

If OUYA fails with Tegra 3, that won’t do you any good. In fact, it may even be bad for you, because people will be talking how Tegra 3 is not good enough of a chip for 3D games. On the other hand, if OUYA has even moderate success with Tegra 4, you would get a lot of hype around your Tegra 4 chip, and free publicity.

Plus, since this console will be “dedicated” hardware, that means whatever games will be built for it, will look better than anything coming out on “Tegra 4 phones or tablets”. In fact Android game developers, may even get this OUYA console to build and test their Android games on it first, which would give you, Nvidia, first access to these Android game developers, as they will build first for Nvidia, and then scale it down for other Android devices.

So I don’t see how you could lose by getting OUYA to use Tegra 4 for its first-gen console. Please, please consider this. Because if OUYA is successful, there will be a lot of other hardware manufacturers wanting to make “OUYA-competitors” by using Tegra 4 as well. If it doesn’t succeed, just write it off as marketing expense.

Just think of OUYA as Nvidia’s own “Nexus” device that promotes your latest and most advanced mobile chip.

Hey there, games on the Tegra 3 processor are AMAZING!!!  I don’t know how Nvidia has done it, but I’m glad they have.  Brilliant work guys.  This processor makes the Nexus 7!
