Is the GeForce 680MX exclusive to Apple, for now? I don’t see it anywhere, not even on NVIDIA’s Hardware products page. Any hints on how it compares to 680M? I am really excited to get an iMac with one of those. Finally Apple went back to NVIDIA. I don’t know what took them so long to announce these babies.

Andre, please see the following link: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/notebook-gpus/geforce-gtx-680mx

The 27″ iMac is going to be a beast with 1536 CUDA Cores!

The GTX 680MX features 1536 Shader Units (same as the desktop GTX 680) instead of 1344 Units which are used in the GTX 680M. I guess that Apple will reduce the clocking of the 680MX a bit, to keep the system cool. I think the new high end 27 inch model will be a screamer anyway.

I’m really excited about this machine.  I work as a videographer in Nashville, and Have been waiting for both the new Imac and the decision to go back to Nvidia GPUs.  But I’m mostly hearing about the GeForce 680MX  In regard to Gaming. Does anyone know where I can learn more about the Specifications in regards to working with Adobe Premiere’s Mercury Engine and any 3d animation programs that push their rendering to the GPU i.e. Blender?  Thanks so much.

Those applications are mainly accelerated by openCL and normal CUDA, so it should receive a monumental speed increase.  Only Autodesk Products, some very exclusive Adobe products (probably not Premiere), and other proprietary overpriced 3D CAD software really are specialized for Quadro use.

Ahh, there it is! Thank you very much Sagar and Marius for your answers.

Why is the gk 106 not part of the line up?

imo gtx 660 is the bang for buck winner.. Odd that this chip is not used in the 21″… I also just read the 10.8.3 has support for radeon 7xxx .. is this a sign of apple switching back to amd possibly with the 2013 mac pros?
