Ever mow down a wild horde of zombies and then have to clean the bits from your grill? Late last year Zombie Driver THD launched for Tegra 3-powered devices and mobile gamers were introduced to pure zombie carnage.

But what happens when the next generation of mobile gaming hotness comes to life? The undead get deader on Project SHIELD.

Exor Studios is giving Zombie Driver THD a full HD overhaul, delivering a ton of mind-blowing optimizations.

When the game comes to life with Tegra 4 enhancements later this year, the 72-core GPU will power real-time dynamic lighting, per-pixel shading with custom per-material specular masks, custom blood splatter and double the zombies.

    I completely agree! Zombie Driver is a hoot to play both casually and for extended sessions. Fortunately, I don’t have to wait to play it on Project SHIELD! Sorry, couldn’t resist :)

    Hey Will, project shield looks awesome, but I feel the brand is gonna need some exclusive content to the system in order for it to be a success (case and point vita). Do you have any exclusive games for project shield that won’t be available on normal android devices?

    Our goal with TegraZone games is to create enhanced versions of games (sometimes exclusive to Tegra) for the Android platform. We’re helping drive innovation by working with developers to inject things like real time physics (rag doll, particle, etc.) , dynamic lighting and shadows, higher textures and custom effects like volumetric smoke and fog, just to name a few :)

    Yes there are additional enhancements, including dynamic light and shadows, custom blood spatter, double zombies, and enhanced textures (to name a few). These effects are only available via Tegra 4.

    Cant wait for this is come out :D ! Been wanting tech that can use my powerful gaming rig for portable around the house use and this is perfect for me, just have to ask will it have microphone support? Its not a deal breaker for me but would be nice to have for skype and such :) .

    In fact, microphone support is built into the headphone jack. It’s a single combo jack that’s intended to be used with headphones/headsets that include built-in microphones.

    We will be shipping in the current quarter of this year (Q2 2013). We aren’t ready to talk more specifically about launch windows at this point.

    Hey super excited about the Shield, was just wondering if there will be any type of remote desktop application along side the streaming of PC Games, was just thinking it would be really awesome especially with emulators or other software, I would understand if it wasn’t possible because of legal reasons and what not, anyways keep up the great work :D

    Project SHIELD runs the latest version of the Android Jelly Bean operating system. That means you can run regular Android apps. There are plenty of remote desktop apps that you can use…

    We’re also working on streaming PC games from your desktop to Project SHIELD.
