Hot on the heels of our Windows 8 WHQL drivers, a new batch of beta GeForce R304 drivers has hit the scene to enable Hollywood-quality antialiasing in your favorite games.

The new GeForce R304 drivers add support for the TXAA antialiasing mode. They also unify Windows 7 and Windows 8 support into a single driver and, for the first time, support all Windows operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 8 – representing over 10 years of Windows releases.

With the launch of GeForce GTX 680, we introduced NVIDIA TXAA, which utilizes techniques similar to those used to create computed generated effects in movies. TXAA will make its gaming debut in Funcom’s highly anticipated new MMO, The Secret World. The game launches today and, in the very near future, will receive full TXAA support by way of an upcoming game patch.

GeForce 304.79 drivers also deliver a nice SLI performance boost in The Secret World, End of Nations, Ghost Recon Future Soldier and several other new games. Cutting-edge gamers will appreciate the numerous compatibility and performance fixes gathered from user feedback. You’ll notice these fixes in Civilization V, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and others. The release notes say that support for hybrid power is discontinued. So Windows 8 notebook drivers will not support the full use of my 9500M?

  • Polaris

This is why I buy only nVidia GPU. The driver’s support is actually alive and kicking. SLi profile updates for games that have not even been release yet! This ensures that our graphic card will always work even in SLi with the latest games out there.

Driver support is so important, no matter how fast the GPU is, if the drivers are abysmal, the GPU is useless.

    Thanks for the comments Polaris.

Yes, in 2009, NVIDIA Verde drivers discountinued support for Hybrid power with Intel chipsets.

  • Lakmal Perera

I have a Dell Studio XPS 13 with an Nvidia MCP79 chipset. Are Nvidia chipsets not supported either?

  • Chris_Daniel

Correct, last summer Hybrid power with MCP was also discontinued in Verde driver updates.

Awesome update! Drastically improved my performance in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, and fixed several graphical glitches in the same.

Hey Chris, any estimation on final WHQL release?

Hey chris, got a question. When will there be a driver availlable for the quadro k1000m? I recently bought a new laptop from my university. I have been searching like forever. I found out that linux drivers are availlable but not for win 7. Will the k1000m be supported?
