So many games this summer, so little time to play…till Bioshock. I loved the game, actually I love (present tense) the game—I’m still playing it on my PC. I even bought both the PC and the X-Box 360 version. Why? Because my better half, jealous of all the time I was spending with it, wanted to watch the game and see the story unfold. PC is my favorite platform (because I have SLI™ enabled, two 8800 GeForce® GTX cards…whoa). The shooting is simply fun and once you get to learn all the bio-mods, it only gets better. Setting enemies on fire, electrocuting them, or freezing them is just cool. Hypnotizing the “Big Daddies” was also fun, especially when taking on multiple enemies. But what really impressed me is the setting; the underwater art deco environment is awesome. Bioshock offers hours of entertainment by perfectly blending intense action and story telling. Buy it! Play it! You’ll see.

Hey MarkUCLA...Just a thought about the DRM. I so agree with you about not having the choice to install DRM or not. but when you look at our lives as a citizen of the good ol' U.S.A. look at the DRM to the 1000th power we are under with no enjoyment we just shut up and be a good little George Bushey or go spend the weekend at Camp Fidel. So dont let DRM ruin your chance at awesome gaming, heck if you were muslim or any other race besides a Bush Family just think of how your life would then? Remember I'm not messin with ya just trying hopefully to put it into focus with reality and I'm a Republican. :( have a Good One @ UCLA

I use my paired GT 7900's in SLI on my ASUS A8n32-SLI Deluxe with my ATHLON 64 4400+ and 3Gb Corsair dual channel DDR400. I have found nothing my system cannot handle. BIOSHOCK was outstanding, aside from constantly loading, loading, loading... The graphics were cool and the detail was very well designed. I was sad to see the industry standard dependance on cinemagraphics though, as the actual gameplay was very good. I rate this game worth the $50 it retails for.

i'm running a P4 @ 3gHz and a gig of OCZ and a 7900gt and even though my rig is out dated i can still run it at a reasonable resolution with the textures fairly high. i really love the game and am a little over half way through it and i'm going to go play it now!

Paul,
I recently upgraded my mobo and CPU to AMD X2 6000+. I'm still running my older vid cards (2 X 7600GT by BFG). With this CPU and my older 7600GTs I'm able to run ET:Quake Wars at 1680X1040 resolution with out a hitch!! I would suggest you keep your 7900s they will certainly be able to handle the games you are playing. I would just suggest you put a massive cooling tower on the 6000+. I have Scythe's Ninja plus rev. B with a much faster, little louder, cooling fan. Scythe's cooling fan does not quite do the job. I'm running the 6000+ at 3.15GHz no problem.

Wish I could've played the game but I will never buy any game containing DRM and limiting me to something I've purchased. Never. Looks like there will be a lot of games I'll (gladly) miss out on.

hi, Im considering building a system with twin 8800 Ultras on an AM2 6000+ Dual core.( currently on twin 7900GTXs on AMD64 4800+). I know you are enthusiasts, so biased, but could you please tell me if its really worth spendin the extra bux to SLI 8800 or just run one card? My current time consuming games are BF2, MOH Airborne, and STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.... your opinions would be most gratefully received, thank you

I've got two EVGA 8800GTX ACS3's in SLI with an Intel QX6700 OC'd at 3.46Ghz. When I tried Bioshock on the highest settings possible, the graphics were so fluid, I got motion sickness playing it!!!!!
It's one of the best games I can't play! D@mn...

Wow, the fact that your 'better half' wanted to sit down and watch you play Bioshock is freaking cool!

To be honest, I didn't really like BioShock. I got sucked in the hype, buying the game the day it was released, but once I reached the second half of the game I started becoming bored with the game. The first half, I felt, was quite good on my first time playing, but after that the game just felt repetitive and lacked variety. And the story, although well presented through audio diaries with great voice acting, wasn't very compelling. At most I'd rate this game an 8.5 out of 10. It starts off great, but loses its lustre as you progress.
