On behalf of NVIDIA, I would like to welcome you to the official NVIDIA SLIZone blog. This blog will provide you a window into the world of SLI™ at NVIDIA, and the people that help bring it to you.
Now in case you are wondering what SLI is, it’s NVIDIA’s technology which allows you to combine two combine two graphics cards on an NVIDIA nForce® motherboard to get faster 3D performance on hundreds of games and applications. We want this blog to be about what we are doing for our users, so I don’t want to go into lots of marketing about SLI; if you want more info on SLI, you can get it at: http://www.slizone.com/page/slizone_learn.html
This blog will cover lots of topics that we believe our SLI users care about, including:
- New SLI-Ready hardware
- Game of the month
- A day in the life of NVIDIA employee
- What does it take to be a professional gamer
- …and more
As a member of our NVIDIA community, we encourage you to leave comments on the blog, as well as let us know which things (events, stories, pics, etc) you want more.

I'm thinking about building my 1st computer and would like to use the NVIDIA 790I Ultra motherboard, but is it true that it supports a maximum of 2Gb of DDR3 1800/2000 memory, even thought Vista (32) will acknowledge 3Gg.
Am I locked into only 2Gb if down the road I upgrade to Vista (64)?
For such a great motherboard, this limited memory capacity seems to be a serious fault.
Thanks

Anyone had problems with ClubSLI software recognising 3-way SLI? I run 3 X 9800GTX on Vista ultimate 64bit, and the software says SLI is not enabled
Any others with this issue?

I am a product engineer working for Best Buy Exclusive Brands and I am currently developing a line of power supplies under the Rocketfish brand that I wish to have SLI certified. I was told recently that there was going to be a change where Nvidia was no longer going to certify power supplies under 750 watts. Is this true?

I DID IT!
I have spent a lot of time and energy over the last year. I fell in love with Flight Simulator X. because I am disabled and am unable to really fly so this was the closest I'll ever come. I couldn't afford to upgrade to the extent the guys at Maximum PC said would be necessary. They pushed the 8800 series of video card and made like you can't play games with fantastic graphics on a cheap machine. Well with Christmas also came some fantastic deals. I was able to pick-up an XFX nforce 6800i lt for $100.00 and two inno3d 8600gt cards with 500 Mb. ram.for a hundred a piece. After all the settings for SLI, over clocking and cooling requirements I was able to slide every single bar, in FSX with Acceleration, to max. I mean lots of cars, whales, boats, with fantastic scenery and realism. I had to lower my FSB slightly after the first run but now it's great. All for a $300.00 upgrade to a $500.00 computer. Benchmarks will come later.

I have a 8600 GT, dual core 2.0 ghz, 2gb ram, vista home premium 32 bit
the problem is well known:
call of duty 4 freezes, the screen turns black a few seconds (you can still hear the sound), than eventually the game comes back. This can happen several times during a session. Afterwards vista sends that nkvdd...error, that the nvidia driver crashed, but was restored.
I have googled that error and a lot of people seem to have it, but there is no official NVIDIA solution.
which driver do i need?
163xx, 169xx, ...? or will there be a new one soon? please answer
thanx

Hi, I have a Geforce 7600 GS, and whit my config. i get about 100-150 fps on Call of Duty 2. I whould like to know if the SLI system must be done whit 2 equal video cards, or can they be diferent? And, how would two 7600 GS on SLI improve my gaming (fps in this case). My motherborad is a Gigabyte S Series AM2 GA-M57SLI-S4 and says Nvidia Nforce 570 SLI whit a AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.21Ghz and 2,00GB RAM. If anyone can help me contact me at cod2@clix.pt. Thanks««

Well if you have the bridge hooked up and you have enabled it in the Bios -(some M boards) and in software. You may want to just uninstall and plug one card in - load driver and then install the second card - then enable it in the software. It should work.
Past that
Do a new windows install get all Windows updates - then try the above
Good luck

Question - Re: Windows Server 2003 and new graphics solutions. Are any of these new cards compatible with the Server 2003?
The new Quadro graphics solutions are the professional 2D Quadro NVS 290, the entry-level 3D Quadro FX 370 and Quadro FX 570, and the mid-range professional 3D Quadro FX 1700. Now there is a Quadro solution for all types of users, projects, and budgets.
