We’re at SolidWorks World 2012 in beautiful San Diego, to meet with users of SolidWorks – a leading 3D computer-aided design application in use by over 1.3 million engineers – and show off NVIDIA’s latest innovations for styling, design, simulation and photorealistic rendering.

If you’re at the show, stop by our booth (#501) to experience NVIDIA Maximus technology, which combines the visualization and interactive design capability of NVIDIA Quadro GPUs and the high-performance computing power of NVIDIA Tesla GPUs into a single workstation. Tesla companion processors automatically perform the heavy lifting of photorealistic rendering or engineering simulation computation. This frees up CPU resources for the work they’re best suited for: I/O, running the operating system and multi-tasking. It also allows the Quadro GPUs to be dedicated to powering rich, full-performance, interactive design.

With NVIDIA Maximus technology, you can perform computational simulation or rendering while continuing to do design work in applications like SolidWorks simultaneously on the same system, at full performance.

Dell, HP and Lenovo are demonstrating workstations based on NVIDIA Maximus technology, so make sure to visit their booths as well.

Other demos include side-by-side comparisons of SolidWorks powered by NVIDIA Quadro professional GPUs to show how upgrading to the latest generation of Quadro provides up to 3X faster interactive performance, as well as eDrawings in stereoscopic 3D with NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro. The video below demonstrates the performance benefits of the Quadro 2000.

And, don’t forget to check out the various breakout sessions about NVIDIA technology:

  • Visual Computing: Redefining the SolidWorks Workstation for Productivity – a primer on the trend toward visual computing. Monday, 2/13, 4:30PM – 6:00PM
  • Break through Development Barriers with Dell Precision and NVIDIA Maximus – learn how Dell and NVIDIA GPU-powered workstations can transform design, simulation, and visualization for CAD engineers, CAE analyst, and industrial designers. Tuesday, 2/14 – 10:30AM-Noon.
  • Workstation vs. Desktop: Making the Switch – see how the industry has evolved over the past decade, and how the tremendous technological advances from earlier systems can benefit your business. Tuesday, 2:45 PM – 3:45 PM.

If you’re not attending the show, you can learn more about how our new NVIDIA Maximus technology and NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics solutions work in conjunction with SolidWorks 2012 software by visiting:  www.nvidia.com/solidworks.
