Every year, Computex organizers pick a handful of devices to represent the best that Asia’s largest technology tradeshow has to offer. This year, seven out of 37 gadgets selected for the Computex 2012 Best Choice Awards are powered by NVIDIA technology.

The Best Choice Awards were handed out by the Taipei Computer Association today, kicking off the show in Taipei. Among the seven products bestowed this illustrious award are the Tegra 3 mobile processor and the GeForce GTX 680 GPU.

The awards, validate NVIDIA’s belief that the industry’s best silicon should not only deliver better performance than the competition, but do so more efficiently than ever before.

Tegra 3 won the Best Choice Award in the Smart Handheld Device Innovation category, while the GeForce GTX 680 received the Best Choice Award in the IC & Components division. This marks the second year in a row that Tegra processors have clinched a Best Choice Award and the fourth consecutive year that NVIDIA’s captured one.

The mobile space demonstrates how power and efficiency are different sides of the same coin. It buzzes with enthusiasm for the latest and greatest mobile processors featuring more CPU cores plus longer battery life. That’s where the Tegra 3 quad-core mobile processor comes in. Its class-leading performance belies its ability to sip battery power, thanks to its exclusive 4-PLUS-1 architecture replete with an extra battery-saver core.

When it comes to PC gaming, the hard truth is that every new generation of gaming titles demands greater processing power for optimal performance. But gamers also want graphics cards that draw less power, run at cooler temperatures and operate silently. To offer the best of all worlds, we created the GeForce GTX 680, which delivers high-end performance while running cooler and quieter than the competition – and at a price point that won’t break the bank.

The seven NVIDIA-powered gadgets honored with Best Choice Awards were:

  • Tegra 3
  • GeForce GTX 680
  • ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 (powered by Tegra 3)
  • AAEON IP65 (powered by Tegra 2)
  • ASUS Nettop EV1033 (powered by GeForce GT 610m)
  • MSI Top Gaming GT70 (powered by GeForce GTX 670m) – double winner

To determine this year’s Best Choice Awards winners, a special panel of government representatives, academia, research analysts, technology editors and other experts reviewed 425 products across a range of electronic-product categories, including mobile devices, displays and complete computer systems.
