Earlier this year our CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, urged the ‘Outlook gods’ to add Outlook to Windows RT. Apparently they listened.
Microsoft announced at the Computex trade show in Taiwan this week that Outlook 2013 RT will be coming to Windows RT tablets later this year with the release of Windows 8.1.
This is an exciting development that we believe will deliver a more robust and full-featured experience to Windows RT users, including those with the Microsoft Surface RT, Lenovo Yoga 11 and ASUS VivoTab RT, which are all powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3.
As Microsoft noted, consumers and business users alike have asked for Outlook for Windows RT, and we are thrilled that it will join the rest of the Office apps, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote, that are already available on Windows RT devices when the free update to Windows is available later this year in the Windows Store.
We agree with Microsoft that the addition of Outlook on Windows RT, along with the announcements Microsoft made this week at TechEd on security, manageability and networking capabilities coming with Windows RT 8.1, makes Windows on ARM even more compelling for enterprises users.
