Disruptive Startups to Vie for $100,000 Prize

by Alain Tiquet

NVIDIA is looking for 12 rising tech stars to compete for a single $100,000 award as the startup with the most disruptive innovation.

The Early Stage Challenge competition will take place before a live audience at our GPU Technology Conference’s (GTC’s) Emerging Companies Summit on March 26, 2014, in San Jose.

Each startup’s CEO will briefly describe their business to a jury of veteran tech and venture-capital experts. Then, the jury and audience will select a winner who gets a $100,000 check, right on the spot.

This will be the first Early Stage Challenge at the Summit, now in its sixth year. The Summit showcases promising companies with disruptive GPU-based technologies who either use or plan to use NVIDIA processors. It’s a highlight of GTC, which attracts thousands of attendees from more than 50 countries.

The Early Stage Challenge is open to seed-funded companies that have raised no more than $1 million in total capital. To be eligible, companies must use, or plan to use, GPU technologies related to games, visualization, computing, cloud or mobile.

All accepted candidates will receive free booth space at the GTC exhibition.
