Many wore NVIDIA t-shirts. Some wore the NVIDIA claw shaved into their hair. And one fan decided it was the perfect place to propose to the love of his life.
Of the more than 80,000 screaming NVIDIA fans who descended on our stage show at Gamescom in Cologne over the weekend, Dennis is one fan we’ll always remember.
After proposing on stage to his girlfriend – she said “yes,” of course – Dennis wasn’t shy about expressing his love for NVIDIA, too.
“Claudia is the love of my life,” Dennis said. “But I’ve also been loving NVIDIA for a long time.”
Fans like Dennis flocked to our show at Gamescom – the world’s largest gathering of gamers – to see everything from our new SHIELD tablet to game news from CD Project Red, Ubisoft, and Alienware.
The star attraction at our Gamescom booth: the SHIELD tablet, now available in Europe. Console-quality Android games like Trine 2 and Portal had more than a few visitors shaking their heads in disbelief, amazed to learn the games weren’t streamed from PCs.

Another featured attraction: Evolve, 2K Games’ new sci-fi themed, co-op first-person shooter. Evolve grabbed Gamescom awards in five categories, including best action game, best PC game, and best online multiplayer game.
Visitors to our booth got to see the game at its best: on dual GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics cards paired with 4K G-SYNC monitors, which work to keep displays and graphics cards in perfect sync. The feedback: many of them experienced G-SYNC for the first time and were impressed by the gameplay without stuttering, tearing and input lags.
There’s more coming for gamers, who were inundated with trailers and announcements for new and upcoming games. The Witcher 3, one of the most anticipated games of 2015 is looking simply incredible. We’ve worked closely with CD Project Red and the result is a truly beautiful game.
A new gameplay demo for The Witcher 3, featured our HairWorks technology, enabling a more dynamic, immersive experience on characters and creatures sporting everything from long hair to dense fur.
2K also showed off Borderlands, The Pre-Sequel. We learned where Handsome Jack came from and how he became the most-feared super-villain in the galaxy.
With amazing low-gravity gameplay, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel now has a setting where you can ramp NVIDIA PhysX up the max for amazing particle effects, realistic ice and lots and lots and lots of particles for all that destruction caused by the games fully-customizable guns. We can’t wait to get our hands on it and to start playing.
Or for Gamescom 2015.
