Turn On, Tune In, Geek Out at GAME24

by Tom Petersen

Gamers: Get ready for something big. No, I’m not talking about Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel although I’m excited about that, too.

No, we’re organizing an epic event for gamers, and we want you to be part of it.

Along with our partners, we’re kicking off an unprecedented 24-hour event that will celebrate PC gaming and give you a glimpse of its exciting future.

We’re hosting live events to kick things off in Los Angeles, Shanghai, Stockholm, London, and other locations around the globe. Please come join us (see below for details).

These events will be part of the 24-hour visual feast that will be streamed live around the world. It kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 6pm Pacific Time. If you can’t join us live, all you need to do is tune in — we might be able to break a record if you do. Along the way, we’ll show you how the PC is driving gaming technology and how we’re pushing the bleeding edge.

A few of our closest friends.

Here’s how you can help make it a huge success:

  1. Start planning now. If you have a job or kids or pets, find someone to cover for you. There are 7 billion people on Earth, many of them love pets and children.
  2. Stock up on snacks and energy drinks, and get some sleep beforehand. Build up your hit points.
  3. Make sure your game buddies know about it. Post it, Tweet it, open a chat window if you have to – sharing is caring.
  4. Get your canned air out, blow out your WASD keys and get ready to game.  We want you to game at home or come game with us. We don’t care how or what you play. Just play!

OK, here are the facts. Save the date.

I was actually wondering this myself, is this one of those events where we bring our own PC or one of those we walk around and demo games on Nvidia gaming PCs and such?

I love the idea, but since not everyone can attend for the physical events, why not allow for 24 hour access to the GRID as well. This includes opening up for previous GRID testers that are now locked out of the 24 hour trial period. During the event, it will be available to everyone again.

AMD is truly the most pathetic company in existance. I hope Nvidia will have security and don’t let in these AMD trolls into the event.
