They’re available immediately, so gamers today have more thin and light gaming notebooks to choose from than ever before. In fact, many have now joined the “size does matter” club, and have notebooks less than one-inch thick.

So, if you’ve been itching to take your gaming on the go with a portable notebook design, now’s your chance.

Of course, gamers know our relationship with developers, and our work to tune our drivers to work with the latest games. And they know we’re invariably the first to introduce new features that enhance gaming, including:

      • BatteryBoost, which is better than ever, providing a better playable gaming experience and longer playtime while away from the wall.
    • ASUS G501 – New ultra sleek 15” design from ASUS ROG.

ShadowPlay, which lets you record your most impressive gaming achievements and share the videos on YouTube or stream them live to Twitch.

  • Optimus, which automatically optimizes the notebook to offer the best graphics performance or best battery life depending on the application
  • And … support for DirectX 12.

To add another level of quality, NVIDIA makes sure our game-ready drivers are WHQL (Windows Hardware Qualification)-certified. That means they’re tested on over 500 platforms for quality and stability.

The only question now: which of these will you choose?

The GTX 950M is absolutely faster
than previous the generation. We just reported clocks slightly
different. If a user compares the GPU clock with the same memory type,
they will see a consistent improvement in clock speed, resulting in improved
    overall performance

I hope Apple put the 950m or even the 960m in their 2015 15 inch MacBook Pro, I’m getting one in July

  • Tony Lu

    Dont worry, they won’t put a 960m.

    Most likely a 950m.

Why would you buy this new one… get last year’s. This one is awful

The Lenovo Y50 with 860m is pretty good for a budget gaming laptop
hope the 960 varient is good as well even though i’m not getting it. my next pc will be a desktop that i want to build myself. next laptop will be an MSI or ROG

if you compare benchmarks, it(950m) will obviously be better. stats doesnt count as much as benchmark scores and game fps.
memory type is also something to consider

I have a question, will there be any QHD+ based ultrabooks with GeForce 940M or GTX 950M 4GB DDR3 or GDDR5 SDRAM?

My suggestion to Nvidia is to make sure that Pascal based mobile GPU’s fit in fanless laptops and work well without any fans because next year, I’m thinking about changing the weight of a laptop and putting more efforts on laptop designs to make it more attractive for our family members next year.

  • IreMinMon

Even laptops with integrated graphics tend to have fanss for cooling, there will be no fanless laptop with dedicated GPU in the next couple of years no matter how sexy that seems to you.

The laptop seems powerful, but I can’t be the only one thinking this : They should make a more solid and less “budget” design. A laptop with no plastic screen-borders and with unified body design is way (WAY) more attractive than the msi GS60. Also, the hard-drive could be replaced for more battery. (Or at least have that option)

The 950M TDP is 20% higher than the 750M. (same for 850). This is maybe why they didn’t put the 850M last year. They may need to change the macbook to get the GPU compatible with their design.
I don’t think the 950M and 960M vary a lot in TDP. So there is a chance that we see one of those in the macbook Pro in 2015. I really hope 960M too, because I’m buying one too 😛

I agree…I have only had mine for a few weeks now and it seems like a bad idea to have a 4k screen wrapped in plastic and feels a little cheap there …I almost feel like I bend it when o open it

How does the 960m compare to the previous generation 860m????
