NVIDIA GRID Goes Mainstream with Microsoft Azure and Citrix

by Anne Hecht

Microsoft Azure and Citrix are making it even easier for customers to deploy, monitor and manage GPU-accelerated virtual apps, desktops and workstations with NVIDIA GRID.

Microsoft announced it has worked with NVIDIA to expand its current offering in the Microsoft Azure cloud with NVIDIA GRID. In addition to deploying 3D applications and virtual workstations, customers can now deploy virtual apps and desktops using their choice of virtualization technology – Citrix, Microsoft RDS, VMware or Workspot. With NVIDIA GRID, deploying GPU-accelerated virtual apps, desktops and workstations is seamless in Microsoft Azure.

Citrix announced it has integrated NVIDIA GRID to offer the industry’s first and only application that includes GPU insights and virtual machine migration supporting GPUs for comprehensive management.

The offering provides advanced operational capabilities to the many enterprises that are deploying NVIDIA GRID-accelerated virtual apps, desktops and workstations across data centers and clouds. Citrix Synergy attendees can participate in technology demonstrations of the application at the Citrix and NVIDIA booths at the show.

The pair of announcements come on the heels of our GPU Technology Conference, where Intuit, DigitalGlobe and Honda discussed their NVIDIA GRID-accelerated solutions. NVIDIA GRID with NVIDIA Tesla GPUs are increasingly being deployed in mainstream virtual apps, virtual desktops and virtual workstations. Organizations are delivering GPU-accelerated Windows 7, Windows 10 and modern applications using enterprise 2U servers, hyper-converged infrastructure and public clouds.

NVIDIA GRID at Citrix Synergy

This week at Citrix Synergy, taking place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, NVIDIA GRID is front and center in keynotes, Synergy sessions and across the show floor.

See us in the Citrix booth, where the XenServer team will be showing the industry’s first GPU-enabled XenMotion technology demo. On the show floor will be a demo of Citrix Director integration with NVIDIA GRID GPU monitoring to gain deep insight.

Experience first-hand virtual apps and desktops in Microsoft Azure cloud by attending a presentation at NVIDIA booth 302 on May 23 at 11:45 p.m.

See more GRID solutions available on the most popular hyper-converged and 2U servers at the booths of Cisco, Dell, HPE and Nutanix.

Learn more about how to monitor your vGPU by speaking with our partners Lakeside Software, LiquidWare Labs and EG Innovations.

Of course, all information, demos and experts can all be found at the NVIDIA booth. Stop by and experience first hand Windows 10 and Windows 7 deployments side by side, XenMotion and Citrix Director with NVIDIA GRID.
