NVIDIA Brings GPU Insights to VMware Through Integration Into vROps

by Anne Hecht

VMware has announced the availability of its VMware vRealize Operations for Horizon (V4H) and vRealize Operations for Published Apps (V4PA) with NVIDIA Virtual GPU Management Pack fully integrated.

With this combination of dashboards, IT teams managing mission-critical and large-scale virtualization deployments can gain critical visibility into both physical and virtual GPUs.

The integration of NVIDIA Virtual GPU Management Pack delivers a complete monitoring and management solution. For infrastructure and helpdesk admins, it brings a new level of visibility into the health, performance and efficiency of the NVIDIA virtual GPU down to the application level.

The NVIDIA Virtual GPU Management Pack supports all of NVIDIA’s virtual GPU products, including the Quadro Virtual Data Center Workstation (Quadro vDWS), the NVIDIA GRID Virtual PC (GRID vPC) and the NVIDIA GRID Virtual Apps (GRID vApps)  products.

The management pack is the first of its kind and the only way IT can get insights into each phase of the virtual GPU deployment. Now IT departments have what they need for right sizing, proactive health monitoring and faster troubleshooting of virtualized environments.

The offering includes:

  • GPU, encode, decode and memory utilization at the host or guest level, with application-level monitoring capabilities — allowing IT to intelligently design, manage and support their end users’ experience.
  • Real-time and historical data for proactive management of their environments, with analytics to optimize user experience.
  • Insights valuable across all of IT — from supporting infrastructure admins for setting up and managing their environments, to IT helpdesk for accelerating the remediation of tickets.
