Vipul Badoni
Vipul Badoni is a principal engineer at NVIDIA, responsible for overseeing the company’s ecosystem of lidar partners building on NVIDIA DRIVE. He defines requirements and drives verification for lidar sensors on NVIDIA DRIVE. Prior to joining NVIDIA, Vipul designed lidars at Velodyne and founded his own lidar startup, AutoNetra. He has led engineering teams at Xilinx, Cypress Semiconductor and LSI Logic. He also established and led the High-Speed IO, Signal Integrity, and Ser-Des Applications group at Altera-Intel. One of Vipul’s career highlights involved the design and fabrication of a 1000x1000 all-optical switch at Nayna Networks, where he was founder and director of optical engineering. He started his career at Fujikura, designing optical transceivers for high-volume production. Vipul holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Delhi Institute of Technology and University of North Carolina at Charlotte, respectively – along with completed courses toward an optical engineering certification from Stanford University. He holds four patents in the field of optical switching, semiconductors and lidar design.
