Ashu Rege

Ashu Rege was formerly vice president of Engineering for Computer Vision and Robotics at NVIDIA, where he led projects such as technology platforms for autonomous vehicles, drones and other applications of computer vision. Prior to that he was VP of Developer Content and Technology at NVIDIA, including teams for developer relations and business development, evangelism, developer technology engineering and PhysX and APEX software development. Before becoming a manager at NVIDIA, he actually did somewhat useful work as a devtech engineer, working with developers around the world on different applications. Prior to NVIDIA, he co-founded or worked at various companies related to computer graphics and modeling, networking and internet technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley, and has published and presented in various journals and conferences on robotics, graphics, geometric modeling, AI, error-correction codes and networking among other areas. In his copious spare time, Ashu likes to patronize seedy dive bars, read up on ancient history and practice his Bollywood dance moves, sometimes all at the same time.
