Growth in hiring for AI specialists — with expertise in fields like robotics and natural language processing — has gone up by an average of 74 percent per year since 2015, a recent LinkedIn report found.
The pay is great, too: The average salary for an AI engineer in San Francisco ranges from around $130,000 to $183,000 per year, according to job site Indeed.com. Engineers with advanced skills and more experience can earn $250,000 or more annually.
Those with a background in programming or computer science can learn new techniques to further their careers, but not all training courses are equal.
The Deep Learning Institute provides engineers, data scientists and developers with AI instruction through hands-on training sessions as well as online, self-paced courses. Deep Dive into Deep Learning: Full-Day Workshops
GTC 2020 kicks off with a day dedicated to training on Sunday, March 22. Six full-day workshops will guide participants to complete a project on their laptops using a fully configured, GPU-accelerated server in the cloud.

Attendees can add one of these full-day workshops to their GTC pass for just $375. That’s a significant discount compared to costs an organization would take on to host its own onsite DLI workshops.
Each participant will receive a certificate upon completion of the course as recognition of subject matter competency.
Head of the Class: Instructor-Led Training
Throughout the week of GTC, DLI will also host dozens of instructor-led training sessions. Attendees with a conference and training pass can sign up for multiple of these two-hour, hands-on labs, where they’ll use NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud through Microsoft Azure. Self-paced learners can also take online training at their own pace while attending GTC. The complete catalog of DLI self-paced training will be available at no additional cost for all attendees with a conference pass.
At the dedicated DLI self-paced training area in the San Jose convention center, experts will be on hand, March 23-26, to answer questions.
