Just three clicks. That’s all it takes to explore your own virtual workspace using VMware virtualized infrastructure running on NVIDIA virtual GPUs.

Designers, engineers and architects can register starting today to get a free virtual desktop trial running graphics-intensive 3D applications securely on any device, using a powerful virtual workstation.

Knowledge workers can try out Windows 10 and modern productivity applications on a virtual desktop that’s nearly indistinguishable from a native PC.

It’s all available by registering for a free test drive today.

What Is the NVIDIA and VMware Test Drive?

The NVIDIA and VMware Test Drive provides users a robust and risk-free way to experience firsthand the power of NVIDIA virtual GPU solutions.

It includes 48 hours of access to a high-performance virtual desktop. The infrastructure is built on VMware vSphere 6.5 with Horizon 7.4 and NVIDIA Quadro Virtual Data Center Workstation software release 6.0, running on NVIDIA Tesla P100 GPUs on a 2Q profile.

The test drive includes pre-installed applications, such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS, Esri ArcGIS Pro and Siemens NX, as well as modern productivity applications on Windows 10 such as PowerPoint, YouTube and Adobe Acrobat 3D.

What Is a NVIDIA Virtual GPU?

The way people work is changing. Workflows are becoming more complex. The workforce is becoming more global and remote. This poses challenges to enabling secure, real-time collaboration.

Additionally, graphical requirements for modern digital workplaces are increasing. According to Lakeside Software, a global leader in workspace analytics, Windows 10 builds increased in GPU consumption by 20 percent in one year alone from 2017 to 2018. They also observed a 2x increase in GPU consumption from Office 2010 to 2016.

To ensure employees are engaged and productive, companies are turning to virtual desktops and workstations delivered from the data center or the cloud. This is where NVIDIA virtual GPU comes into play.

NVIDIA virtual GPU software enables the delivery of graphics-rich virtual desktops and workstations accelerated by NVIDIA Tesla data center GPUs. The software enables sharing of the same Tesla GPU across multiple virtual machines running any application. Because work that was typically done by the CPU has been offloaded to the GPU, the user has a much better experience and more users can be supported.

GPU Acceleration in Action

GPU-powered VDI environments provide significant advantages over CPU-only ones. They deliver a better user experience by virtualizing the most demanding 3D applications, opening up new use cases that were not possible before. With a native workstation-like experience, users can securely collaborate and do remote work for a big boost in productivity.

GPUs also enable VDI to scale cost-effectively across an organization, so digital workers can use Windows 10 and modern productivity applications.
