Improving the health and well-being of wide swaths of humanity is one of the greatest challenges of our time.
From cancer to the opioid crisis, policymakers and rank-and-file employees at federal agencies are on the front lines of efforts to overcome these challenges.
The GPU Technology Conference, the largest AI event in Washington, D.C., will address the latest healthcare innovations and applications for the federal market. Key leaders will discuss how AI helps them solve the industry’s most pressing issues.
Taking place Oct. 22-24 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, GTC DC will cover topics such as applying deep learning to cancer and biomedical research, addressing the opioid crisis with exascale genomics, and using synthetic data to revolutionize healthcare.
One highlight: a discussion on bringing AI out of the labs and into clinics. The panel will feature Elizabeth Jones, acting director of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the National Institutes of Health; Agata Anthony, regulatory affairs executive at GE Healthcare; Bakul Patel, associate director for Digital Health at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and Carla Leibowitz, head of corporate development at Arterys.
Other notable healthcare speakers include:
- Daniel Jacobson, chief scientist for systems biology at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, who will talk about how Summit, the world’s fastest supercomputer, is being used to attack the opioid epidemic.
- Elliot Fishman, professor of Radiology, Oncology, Surgery and Urology from Johns Hopkins Hospital, who will talk about the two-year journey to develop deep learning algorithms for the detection of pancreatic cancer on CT scans.
- Faisal Mahmood, a postdoctoral fellow from Johns Hopkins University, who will talk about how a new generation of AI-generated images can accelerate efforts to train sophisticated new medical imaging systems.
For those looking to build skills with practical applications of AI, NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Institute will be hosting an exclusive hands-on training workshop on Oct. 22 focused on solving healthcare’s biggest challenges.
