Attendees descending on Las Vegas next week for Amazon Web Services re:Invent 2019 will discover they’ve landed on another winner: NVIDIA is teaming with Autodesk and AWS to offer free, unlimited generative design in Autodesk Fusion 360 through Dec. 31.
It’s the latest in a string of jackpot announcements NVIDIA and AWS have made this year:
- AWS integrating an inferencing pipeline with NVIDIA DeepStream and the G4 instance family
- Amazon EC2 G4 instances with up to eight NVIDIA T4 Tensor Core GPUs optimized to accelerate machine learning and graphics-intensive workloads are in general availability.
- Amazon EC2 P3 and P3dn instances with Elastic Fabric Adapter for deep learning with support for NVIDIA Collective Communication Library, which optimizes multi-GPU and multi-node communication primitives and boosts throughput over NVIDIA NVLink interconnects.
- Amazon EC2 P3 instances feature NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs supporting NVIDIA Quadro Virtual Workstation.
In addition, AWS and NVIDIA are helping researchers study “messages” from the universe, with 51,500 NVIDIA GPUs powering the largest cloud simulation in history across AWS, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure to provide valuable new insights to scientists researching neutrinos.
We also worked with AWS and Arizona State University, which recently hosted its first-ever robotics hackathon. More than 60 undergraduate and graduate students across seven Arizona institutions came together in a statewide competition to use the SparkFun JetBot AI kit, powered by the NVIDIA Jetson Nano, to develop robots that could autonomously navigate a track.
NVIDIA has several speakers giving talks at the show, we’re hosting a networking event on autonomous vehicle innovation on Dec. 4, and there are more sessions and workshops to learn about everything from high performance computing with NVIDIA GPU accelerators to graphics virtualization with NVIDIA Quadro Virtual Workstation.
